Trojans pick up a pair of wins

The Portsmouth Trojans improved their record to 13-3 after consecutive wins on Monday and Tuesday. The Trojans beat the Chesapeake Panthers in four sets (23-25, 27-25, 25-15, 25-22), then swept the Fairland Dragons a day later (25-15, 27-25, 25-19).

Lyda Spencer had a solid game against the Panthers with 14 points, seven aces, 11 kills and 18 digs. Katie Fannin scored 15 points and recorded four aces. Baleigh Bradley was tough on defense, recording 23 digs.

Against the Dragons, Allison Douthat recorded 15 points, two aces and 25 assists. Aiden Fields had eight points with five aces and 14 kills. Anne Marie Raies finished the night off with eight points and two aces.

The Trojans are 9-1 in OVC play.
