Ironton loses to Southeastern

The Waverly Arena was on fire Thursday night as the Ironton Tigers girl’s basketball team battled out with Southeastern in a triple overtime war. Ironton lost the with a final score of 55-61.

Southeastern’s Audrie Wheeler and Ella Skeens kept the ball speeding across the court. Wheeler scored 17 points from seven-two point baskets and one shot from behind the arc. Skeens scored 16 from six-twos, one-three and one of four free throws.

Topping that fierce duo was the leader of the night, Tiger Lexie Arden who scored 21 points. Arden scored from eight-two pointers, one-three pointer and two of three free throws.

Southeasten will face Eastern in the finals at 6:15 p.m. on March 3 at Waverly High School.
