Golf hosts Shawnee State Early Bird Tournament

Shawnee State golf hosted the Shawnee State Early Bird Tournament on Monday afternoon, with the SSU men taking second place overall.

Dagan Abdon was the Shawnee State men’s best player on the day, posting a 74 for the round. A.J. Hamilton was second best for the Bears’ A team, shooting a 78. Ian O’Cull led Shawnee State’s B team to a third place finish, shooting a 76 and taking third overall as an individual.

Braden Keown led West Virginia Tech to a tournament victory by shooting a tournament best 73 on the day.

The Shawnee State women were in action as well, with Morgan McReynolds shooting a team-best 100. Kentucky Christian’s Brianna Cornett was the medalist on the women’s side with a 92.

Shawnee State golf is back in action on March 20th and 21st when both teams compete in the Mid-South Conference Championships, to be held at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky.
