Men’s Basketball hosts Senior Night against Campbellsville

The Bears will honor three seniors on Thursday against the Tigers

Shawnee State men’s basketball hosts Senior Night on Thursday when they host Campbellsville in Mid-South Conference play.

The Bears are 8-16 and sit at 1-10 in the Mid-South Conference. Shawnee State were defeated by Life on Saturday 83-70.

Campbellsville are 12-13 on the season, and are 2-9 in the league. The Tigers fell to #14 Pikeville 71-65 on Saturday.

Jayllen Carter continues to lead Shawnee State in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game. Frederick Moore is averaging 13.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in a team leading 30.3 minutes per contest. Tamal Watkins is the third Bear averaging double digit points, getting 10.1 points per game.

Tyler Hagen leads Campbellsville in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game.

Shawnee State are 7-12 in the all-time series against Campbellsville. The Bears fell to the Tigers on January 14th, a 79-71 road defeat.

Thursday night’s game is Senior Night at Shawnee State. SSU will honor Jacob Daniels, Ryan Duncan and Aaron Watts for their contributions to the program. Thursday night’s game also marks Jeff Hamilton’s final home game in charge of the men’s basketball program. Delano Thomas will take over as head coach following the 2016-17 season, with Hamilton becoming the full-time athletics director.
