Trojans hold off Tigers

The Portsmouth Trojans held off a late Tigers rally and defeated Ironton 55-46 Tuesday night at Conley Center. Portsmouth outscored the Tigers every quarter and maintained a significant lead despite a push from Ironton later in the game.

Trojan Mike Malone led all scorers with 14 points coming from one field goal and four-three pointers during the game. Portsmouth also got 13 points from Kendal Reynolds and 12 points from Reese Johnson.

The Tigers were led by R. Glover, who scored 13 points and K. Adkins, who added nine points.

Ironton fell to 0-1 overall, while Portsmouth improved their record to 7-3.

Portsmouth will play again at home versus Gallia Academy on Friday in a triple header starting at 5 p.m.
