Men’s Basketball hit road for Campbellsville

The Bears take on the Tigers in Mid-South Conference action

Shawnee State men’s basketball return to action after a week-long break on Saturday when they travel to Campbellsville for a Mid-South Conference game.

The Bears are 7-9 overall and are 0-4 in the Mid-South Conference. Shawnee State fell to life on Saturday, January 7th 87-63.

Campbellsville are 9-8 overall and are 1-4 in the league. The Tigers fell to #2 Georgetown 93-87 on Thursday, January 12th.

Jayllen Carter continues to lead Shawnee State in scoring. The Portsmouth native is averaging 15.3 points per game so far. Frederick Moore is averaging 12.5 points per game and leads SSU in rebounding with 7.9 per game.

Hagen Tyler leads Campbellsville in scoring with 14.4 points per game.

Shawnee State are 7-12 all-time against Campbellsville and have lost four in a row in the series. The last Shawnee State win against the Tigers was a 63-61 home triumph over then #1 Campbellsville on January 24th, 2015.

Shawnee State continues to be a top 10 team in defensive rebounds, averaging 30.688 per game, good for eighth in NAIA Division I. The Bears also averaging 9.125 more rebounds per game than their opponents, putting them 12th in the NAIA.

Tipoff between the Bears and Tigers is scheduled for 4:00pm.
