Clay, ‘Burg score big wins Monday night

It may have been a cold night, but the Clay Panthers and Wheelersburg Pirates were still heating up their home courts, both scoring large margin wins.

The Clay Lady Panthers beat the Eastern Eagles 69-12 Monday night at home.

Leading Clay was Jensen Warnock with 18 points. Warnock was followed by Cameron Delotell, who scored 13 points during the evening.

Eastern had three scorers throughout the game, all of which scored four points each. Scoring for Eastern was Olivia Hatfield, Maddy Southworth and Cassidy Freemont.

Clay will go on to play Thursday at East; meanwhile, Eastern will play at home Thursday against Symmes Valley.

The Wheelersburg Lady Pirates also had a big win over the Valley Indians on Monday at home, beating them 49-33.

Leading for ‘Burg and leading the game was impressive baller Ellie Ruby with 22 points scored. Valley leading scorer Maddie Wright scored nine points.

Both teams will be on the road Thursday. The Pirates will go on the road to face the South Webster Jeeps. The Valley Indians will take their game to the West Senators.
