Tornadoes blow through Panthers

The Clay Lady Panthers weren’t in Portsmouth anymore when they faced the Racine Southern Lady Tornadoes, who beat the Clay Panthers on the Tornado court Saturday.

Clay started out strong, taking a lead in the first quarter. The Panthers went into the second quarter beating the Tornadoes 31-25 but lost the game in the final period, scoring only five points and giving up 15.

Leading the Panthers was season top scorer Jensen Warnock. Warnock scored 22 points throughout the game – scoring five two-point field goals, 3 three pointers and making three of 10 free throws.

Following behind Warnock was Skylar Artis. Artis made eight points throughout the game.

The Tornadoes were led by Faith Teaford, who made 25 points, making her the leading scorer of the game.

The Panthers are now 7-4 and 4-2 in the conference.

Clay will play again at home on Monday when they will face Eastern.
