SSU golf adds Steven Zimmerman of Piketon

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Shawnee State men’s golf is pleased to announce the signing of Steven Zimmerman for the 2017-18 season.

Steven played golf at Piketon high school under head coach Kevin Moore, lettering all four seasons. Steven also played basketball for four years and baseball for two years at Piketon. As a golfer, Steven was the SVC Player of the Year his senior season, was an All-Ohio Academic honoree and a district medalist. Zimmerman holds the Piketon school record for record low scores through nine and 18 holes, and helped Piketon to win sectional and district championships, along with finishing third at the state championships.

Steven is the son of Randy and Wendy Zimmerman, and lives in Piketon. He is planning to major in Environmental Engineering at Shawnee State.

Zimmerman is the third signee of the fall for Shawnee State men’s golf. The Bears have also signed Jordan Tieman from West Portsmouth, and Craig Horton from West Union, Ohio.

Jonathon Loughridge is the Sports Information Director at Shawnee State University.
