PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Jonessa Moore has been named the Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 21st-27th.

Moore, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, was key in the Bears’ two wins last week. She had 21 points and six rebounds against Brescia (Ky.) in Shawnee State’s 104-53 victory over the Bearcats.

Moore then followed that up with a double-double on Saturday, scoring 21 points and grabbing 15 rebounds against No. 17 Pikeville in SSU’s Mid-South Conference opener.

Moore’s performance last week has been the rule more than the exception thus far this season. Jonessa is averaging 19.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game through 10 games.

Moore’s contributions thus far have helped Shawnee State get off to a 10-0 start, their best since the 2008-09 season, and to start 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference.

The award is the first for Jonessa in her career and the first for a Shawnee State player this season.
