The Clay Lady Panthers only needed three sets to dispose of the Green Lady Bobcats Thursday evening at Clay High School in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Clay defeated Green in straight sets to capture another SOC I win, 25-11, 25-2 and 25-9.
Delanie Gilliland led the Lady Panthers in kills, finishing the match with 15. She was followed closely behind by Jensen Warnock, who brought in a baker’s dozen, 13. Taylor Lewis added another five kills to the total for the Lady Panthers.
Clay nearly had 20 aces in the straight set match win over the Green Lady Bobcats, finishing with 19. Lynlee Wells ended the night with eight aces, while Lila Brown added another seven for the Lady Panthers. Both Jensen and Jaelyn Warnock earned a pair of aces each in Clay’s win.
Shaelyn Vassar broke double digits in digs, leading the Lady Panthers with 11. Jensen Warnock finished with four.
Lila Brown played setup for the Lady Panthers Thursday evening as she earned 24 assists for Clay. Jaelyn Warnock provided some aid as well, finishing with six assists.
Shaelyn Vassar also showed promise with five service receptions for Clay, while three other Lady Panthers added four each, Skylar Artis, Jensen Warnock and Jaelyn Warnock.
Lynlee Wells had 17 points off the serve and was nearly tied by Lila Brown, who finished the match with 16. Jaelyn Warnock ended her nigh with six.
The Lady Panthers will suit up again Monday evening when they host the Valley Lady Indians at Clay High School in Portsmouth. First served is scheduled to fly over the net at 5:30 p.m. for the junior varsity contest with the varsity contest to follow immediately after.
Green will return to the volleyball court Tuesday in another SOC I contest. The Lady Bobcats will host the Eastern Lady Eagles with a scheduled match time of 5:30 p.m. at Green High School in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
