Kiwanis playground closed until further notice Wayne Allen

The city of Portsmouth Service Department in cooperation with the Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth has closed the playground in Tracy Park until further notice due to a number of issues with the structure including sharp edges.
In March a sizable tree in the park came up by its roots and smashed a large portion of of the playground.

FRANKLIN FURNACE — Green Schools in Franklin Furnace hosted a special program Friday morning, inviting a group of retired Olympian athletes from New Zealand and the Kahurangi Maori Dance Company of New Zealand, to speak and perform for students.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said that two West Portsmouth brothers Bobby and James Stone of 1336 Seventh Street were arrested Friday for the April 9 robbery of the Superquick in West Portsmouth.
