Dr. Tracy Murray, whose dental practice is located at 1010 Gallia St. in Portsmouth, is gearing up for large crowds for his “Free Day Of Dentistry,” event, Saturday, July 28. This will be the fifth year for the event, featuring Murray’s team of dentists, sponsors, and volunteers, prepared to help many people by treating them with fillings, extractions and cleanings.
Free Day Of Dentistry is a local nonprofit event, Murray says has a simple mission — making people smile. Founded in 2007, Free Day Of Dentistry was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans. Murray said, without events like Free Day Of Dentistry, dental care simply isn’t an option for many of the under-insured.
Matraca Montavon of the Murray Dentistry practice said to date, Murray and his team have provided over 500 community members with almost $200,000 worth of free dentistry.
“Now more than ever, I know there’s people out there that need my services, but have no means to afford them — whether they’re out of a job, or just don’t have dental insurance,” Murray said. “This Free Day Of Dentistry event is my way of giving back to the community, and being there for the people who are in need of dental work.”
