Dr. Charles Ware of Crossroads Bible College in Indianapolis, Ind. was the guest speaker at Pleasant Green Baptist Church Saturday during a men’s fellowship which included lunch and fellowship and Ware’s message.

Twenty-five men composed of Pleasant Green Baptist Church members, and members from other local churches came out to participate in the event.

Ware is the President of Crossroads Bible College which is an accredited institution of higher education that is committed to academic excellence based on a solid foundation of biblical authority.

The slogan of Crossroads Bible College is, “Training Christian leaders to reach a multiethnic urban world for Christ.”

“My hope is to challenge the group that I will speak to today to step up when it comes to biblical knowledge,” Ware.

Ware said that the Christians are failing to learn the scriptures and teach them to their children.

“Statistics reveal that 80 percent of young people that grow up in Evangelical churches when they go off to college, are stepping away from their faith in the church. So we want to challenge individuals in regard to their need know the scriptures, to be biblically literate, and to live the word of God,” Ware said.

Ware said that too many systems and ideologies exist today that attempt to undermine God’s standard for living.

“We need people that are intelligent in the scriptures, compassionate, and with convictions that will bring the Word of God back into our community,” he said.

Brady Womack attended the men’s fellowship and said that he thoroughly enjoyed the message that Ware shared.

“I thought the message was great. He really opened us up on our responsibility of sharing God’s Word wherever we are at. I particularly like how he spoke about how we as men converse more about sports than we do the bible. He challenged the men to share more of God’s word with others,” Womack said.

Clarence Parker, Pastor of Pleasant Green Baptist Church said he was delighted to have Ware come to address the men, and that his message was very timely.

“Dr. Ware gave us a challenge today, to stand up and speak out, because the church is under a spiritual attack. He shared that with the men that it is time for Christians, not only men, to make a difference in their homes, communities and beyond,” Parker said.
