A man, whose address is unknown, is in the Scioto County Jail under $300,000 bond on a murder charge. Alexander Bronner, 20, is charged with shooting David Beekman, 32, of 633 Beekman Ridge Road in Pike County about 10 p.m. Saturday.
“I don’t know his (Bronner) exact address,” Pike County Sheriff Richard N. Henderson said. “I think he was moving here. So we’re not sure how long he has been here or where he came from.”
Henderson said the theory is that an argument ensued at an unknown location.
“Apparently they were at a party or something,” Henderson said. “He (Bronner) came back home, and then when David (Beekman) came home another argument ensued on the porch and that is where it took place.”
Henderson said Bronner obtained a handgun, and when Beekman showed up, shot him in the abdominal area.
Henderson said Bronner fled the area on foot and, with help from a Jackson Police Department canine unit, found him in a wooded area.
Henderson said Bronner has been arraigned and is in the Scioto County Jail under $300,000 bond. He is charged with murder and awaiting another court appearance.
