Two people are in the Scioto County Jail charged with illegal manufacture of methamphetamine. Nathaniel Waller, 35, and Sara Burggraff, 21, both of 242 Ratcliff Road, Beaver, also face charges of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine; possession of criminal tools and child endangering, all felony charges. Waller was out on bond from a pending felony drug manufacturing case in Pike County Common Pleas Court, at the time of the couple’s arrest.

Pike County Sheriff Richard N. Henderson said Maj. Nakoa L. Spradlin and Deputy Hank Steiger responded to an anonymous report around 10:38 p.m. Thursday of possible drug manufacturing taking place at the Ratcliff Road address.

Henderson said when officers conducted a search of the premises, an active clandestine methamphetamine lab was discovered along with numerous items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. White powder believe to be methamphetamine was also found, deputies said, and will be sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

Henderson said a toddler was found residing at the home, and was released to the custody of a family member.

John Strong, 29, of Piketon, was also arrested on unrelated warrants.

Bio Safe of Southern Ohio was contacted to neutralize and remove the hazardous clandestine lab-related chemicals. A 2006 Dodge Dakota was seized from the property and was impounded by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.

Henderson said additional charges might be filed pending the investigation and the case will be presented to an upcoming term of a Pike County grand jury.
