A New Boston police officer suffered minor injuries when he cruiser was struck by another car about 4:30 a.m. Friday.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the vehicle operated by Officer Sam Craft was stationary on Rhodes Avenue near Finney Street in New Boston, when it was struck by a Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Timothy Reed of Lucasville.
Troopers said they were called to investigate the crash, and determined that Reed’s vehicle was eastbound on Rhodes Avenue when it drifted to the left side of the road and struck the officer’s vehicle.
Craft was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center with minor injuries. Reed was transported to SOMC, and later transported to Grant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers of the Portsmouth Post.
