Two more Columbus residents have been arrested on drug charges in Portsmouth. Enoch S. White, 32, of 1035 Atcheson St., Columbus, is charged with possession of drugs - cocaine, possession of drugs, schedule I or II substance, and trafficking in drugs containing cocaine. Dominic M. Wiley, 21, of 961 Alton Ave., Columbus, is charged with possession of drugs - cocaine and trafficking in drugs containing cocaine.
According to the police report, around 2:35 p.m. Sunday, the Portsmouth Police Department assisted Portsmouth Municipal Court Probation officers with a home visit at an apartment located at 1809 G Wayne Ave. in Portsmouth. Officers had received information that two subjects from Columbus were at the apartment selling drugs.
Officers said when they arrived they found Wiley, White and several other individuals inside the apartment. Officer Steve Timberlake advised all of the subjects of their Miranda rights.
As officers prepared to pat down Enoch White for weapons, a plastic baggy with white contents was observed sticking from his right pants pocket. Lieutenant Michael Hamilton asked White what it was, and he reportedly responded that it was percocets. The baggy was removed and found to contain 5 - 10 milligram and 3 - 5 milligram oxycodone tablets. That baggy also had a small baggy with white rocks, which White reportedly said was half a gram of crack cocaine.
During the pat down of Wiley, Timberlake said he felt a lump under his jeans just above the ankle. Hamilton said he asked Wiley what it was and if officers could remove it. Wiley reportedly told them it was crack cocaine and he told officers to remove it. Timberlake then removed a baggy with 16 prepackaged white rocks of crack cocaine. White and Wiley were both arrested. No female officer was available to search female individuals that were in the apartment, but during pat downs, nothing was found.
Wiley reportedly told Timberlake he had come to Portsmouth to sell crack cocaine to help pay expenses for his daughter. White told him he came to Portsmouth with Wiley and he cut and packaged the crack cocaine for him because he didn’t know how.
White also said he took a $50 piece of crack when he was packaging the crack, but Wiley didn’t know it. White also said he purchased the oxycodone tablets from someone in the Wayne Hills area. White had $299 cash and Wiley $46 in cash. All of the money is believed to be proceeds from drug deals.
