Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware have issued a joint statement that on Monday, at approximately 9:16 p.m., the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, arrested 49-year-old Ida F. Arnett of 279 Center St. Lucasville. The arrest was made after a warrant to arrest on indictment was issued by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court for charges of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the fourth degree and possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree.
The warrant for Arnett’s arrest had been issued after a case against Arnett had been presented to a Scioto County grand jury by Task Force Detectives and the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Donini, Arnett was apprehended during a traffic stop on U.S. 23 North in Lucasville by troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol after she had been spotted by Task Force detectives. Another occupant of the vehicle, Justin A. Holcomb, 25, of 36 Oakwood St., Lucasville, was also arrested on a warrant on complaint which had been issued by the Portsmouth Municipal Court for the charge of domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
Arnett and Holcomb were placed in the Scioto County Jail and are being held without bond until their arraignment.
