Two people have been arrested for illegal manufacturing of drugs. Misty Craft, 31, and James Lutz, 30, both of 1802 Kendall Ave., Apt. C, were charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs and illegal possession of chemicals for the manufacturing of drugs, both felonies.
Acting Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said Portsmouth Police Officers were dispatched to that address about 10 p.m. Sunday in reference to a complaint of a possible methamphetamine lab. Upon investigation, police officers learned that there were items used to make methamphetamine in a duffel bag in the upstairs bedroom.
Ware said the residence is in an apartment complex and the offense occurred within 100 feet of a juvenile.
Ware thanked the public for their assistance and said anyone wishing to leave drug information for the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, should call the Portsmouth Police Dept. drug line at 740-354-DRUG (3784), or the Sheriff’s Office drug line at 740-351-1094 or email drugs@sciotocountysheriff.com.
