A string of powerful storms moved through the area Thursday evening leaving many in the area without power.
According to American Electric Power Ohio, 2,557 customers in Scioto County were without power at 9 p.m. Thursday.
Adams County had 132 outages while Pike County had 511 and Lawrence County had 1,280 outages as of 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
AEP Ohio released a statement encouraging customers to contact the company either through their call center or online to report an outage.
According to the statement, more than 51,000 AEP customers in Ohio were without power as of 6:15 p.m.
Statewide, the areas facing the largest outages are those around New Philadelphia, Columbus and Newark.
Franklin County had the highest concentration of outages Thursday evening with 8,138.
This is the second storm in a little under a month to cause widespread power outages in Ohio.
The June 29 storm left 18,135 AEP Ohio customers in Scioto County without power and more than 660,000 powerless in the state.
