Steven Gerald Phillips, 64, of Huntington, W.Va. formerly of Kenova, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Ceredo. Steve was born Sept. 13, 1948, in Portsmouth, Ohio son of the late Gerald Phillips and the late Wanda and Charles Newsom. He was a retired Supervisor from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad Kenova Yard with 33 years of service. Steve was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam and he was a member of the American Legion Post #93 in Kenova. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Dustin “Duke” Phillips. Survivors include his beloved wife Frances Simon Phillips five children Josh Phillips (Traci), Bre Barrett (Scott), Maggan Gwinn, Tammy Dillow and family and Neal Phillips and family. He is also survived by five grandchildren Emaleigh and Carter, Anna and Halle and Zander. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Hospice House Staff and Dr. Mitchell for the outstanding care and love they were given.
