David and Patricia Smith celebrate 50 years of marriage.

David (Buddy) and Patricia (Pat) Smith are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. David Smith and Pat Ladd were united in mariage at Shawneetown, Ill. March 15, 1963, with a double ring ceremony, with Baptist Minister Leonard Whitlock officiating.

Karen Tipton and Roy Shanklin of Christian County were their witnesses. David was the son of Dan and Ida Smith Dawson Springs Rd., Crofton. Mrs. Smith, formerly Pat Ladd from Crofton, was the daughter of Annie L. and Hanson Petsch, Crofton. The couple has two sons; oldest son Kevin and wife Jamie, and their son James David Smith of Galion, Ohio. Their youngest son Brian and wife Linda have two children, Hayden and Haylee Smith of Lucasville, Ohio. Dave and Pat are retired and live in Lucasville. Smith retired with 20 years in the Navy Oct. 16, 1978.
