Janet Gullion, 75

Janet Lee Gullion, 75, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at the S.O.M.C. Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Janet was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Nagle) Johnson of Sciotoville. Janet served as a fifth grade school teacher at Minford Local Schools for over 20 years. Janet was also a member of the Madison Missionary Baptist Church in Minford, Ohio where she served the Lord through music by singing in the choir and sharing special music and by playing the piano. Janet also played the piano and taught Sunday School at Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville for many years. She was truly a godly wife, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Janet was a gifted servant of God who served the Lord with joy and gladness. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, George Gullion whom she married on June 1, 1957. Janet had three sons: Chris Gullion of Sciotoville, Craig and Glenda Gullion of Minford, and Kevin and Melissa Gullion of Minford; one brother, Tom and Patty Johnson of Wheelersburg, three sisters Donna and Jerry Beil of Fenton, Mich., Ruth and Roger O’Brien of Longboat Key, Fla. and Debbie and Jay Harvey of Patterson, N. J. Janet also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Caleb Gullion, Morgan Gullion, Kenton Gullion, Katie Gullion, Molly Gullion, Emily Gullion and Anne Gullion.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, Ohio with Pastor Timothy Wright officiating. Friends and family may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, and one hour before the funeral service on Saturday. The family has also asked that donations be made to SOMC Hospice of Portsmouth, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662 in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
