Fourth quarter rally keeps Oak Hill in SOC II driver’s seat

A 28-17 fourth quarter rally by visiting Oak Hill helped erase a 26-19 hole as the Oaks defeated Wheelersburg 47-43 in Friday’s SOC II battle.

Drew Haislop’s 15 points and Kyle Love’s 13 led the victors. JD Widdig paced the Pirates with 14.

Oak Hill will take on Huntington (WV) St. Joseph Saturday. Wheelersburg will host Valley Saturday as a part of a makeup.

Waverly 66, Northwest 52

Phillip Hart’s game-high 22 points along with 18 from Jean Paul White and a baker’s dozen from Eric Rinehart helped host Waverly dispose of Northwest 66-52 in Friday’s SOC II action.

Drew Scarberry led the Mohawks with 20 points on the night. Northwest hosts New Boston Saturday night. The Tigers will go to Greenup County (Ky.) Saturday night.

Notre Dame 48, Clay 35

Notre Dame left Clay Friday night with a 48-35 SOC I win thanks to double-digit performances from JP Kayser and Kevin Lewis.

Kayser recorded a game-high 19 points while Lewis chipped in with 11 for the win. Michael Schmidt had 11 points and eight rebounds while Eldin Sarajlic added 10 and nine for the Panthers.

The Titans are scheduled to play at Ironton St. Joseph Tuesday. Clay goes to Northwest Saturday

Portsmouth 67, Gallia Academy 48

Portsmouth senior Jayllen Carter gave another incredible performance in front of the home faithful Friday night as the Trojans defeated SEOAL rival 67-48.

Carter finished with a game-high 28 points on the evening. He was joined in the win by Ky’re Allison with 20 and Isiaha Lisath finished with a dozen.

Portsmouth is scheduled to play at Logan Feb. 15.
