Danny Bateman, 72
Danny Gail Bateman, 72, of Minford, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Ohio State University Hospital. Born Sept. 2, 1940, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Daniel Gail and Elsie Mae Kronk Bateman, he was retired from Goodyear Atomic Plant, was a farmer and a 10 year U.S. Naval Submarine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mershon Bateman; three children, Tim (Wendy) Bateman of Sciotoville, John (Eriko) Bateman of Tokyo, Japan, Julie (Brian) Hill of Cincinnati, and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Bateman.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Bernard Tilley officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Military rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363.
