Betty Holbrook Foit, 83

Betty R. Holbrook Foit, 83 of South Shore, Ky., passed away Nov. 20, 2012, at the South Shore Nursing and Rehabiliation Center. Born Dec. 26, 1928, in Detroit Mich., a daughter of the late James and Emma Holbrook. She was a former employee for Marting’s Department Store in Portsmouth and a graduate of McKell High School.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John W. Foit of South Shore, Ky., whom she married June 15, 1946; two sons, Michael (Dee) Foit of South Shore, Ky., John R. (Patty) Foit of Lucasville, Ohio and a daughter Deborah Johnson of McDermott, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Michael Patrick Foit, Paul Foit (A.J.), Chris Johnson, Adam Foit, Ron Foit, Jennifer Haywood and Jonas Foit, and nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She is also survived by one brother James Holbrook and one sister Marilee Abrams. Betty enjoyed reading, gardening, and sewing.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland, Ky. 41101.
