Portsmouth Police are looking for a man they say robbed three local establishments between 6 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday.
“The first one occurred last night at closing time at Subway on Gay Street,” Portsmouth Police Detective Andy Dawes said. “The second was at 4:47 Monday morning at Super Quik on Scioto Trail. The third robbery occurred Monday afternoon shortly before 1 o’clock at Bridge Carry Out.”
A weapon was believed to be involved in each of the robberies, but was reportedly shown at only the Bridge Carry Out.
“In the first two (robberies), the tellers did not see a weapon, but believed there was a weapon indicated,” Dawes said. “At the Bridge Carry Out, a weapon was shown.”
Dawes talked about the method used at all three robberies.
“It looks like the suspect is doing the same M.O. at all three places. And we believe the suspect is responsible for all three,” Dawes said. “Cash was taken in all three places.”
Dawes said he is concerned about the danger of the suspect.
“We do have video from all three locations, and while no one was hurt in the incidents, but we do think that it’s just a matter of time that if this guy isn’t stopped, somebody could be hurt.” Dawes said.
The suspect is described at being a white male with brown hair, and maybe some scruff on his face.
Anyone with information may call Dawes at (740) 354-1600 or (740) 353-4101. Dawes said all information can be kept confidential.
