Willard Cyrus, 70

Willard R. “Bob” Cyrus, 70 of Wrights Run Rd. McDermott, Ohio died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the SOMC-Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio following a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 3, 1942, in McDermott, Ohio to the late Willard Garfield and Geneva May Roberts Cyrus.

He was united in marriage on May 18, 1963, to Audrey Cable Cyrus who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Timothy and Willard E. Cyrus both of McDermott, and Robert Cyrus of Lucasville, two daughters: Kimberly “Dave” Deatley of Minford, and Roberta “Jon” Lute of Otway, 10 grandchildren: Holly, Kortne, Jonathon, Audrey, Rachel, Ashley, Annie, Ray, Elysia, and Joann; Seven Great Grandchildren, One brother, Charles Rodney “Virginia” Cyrus of Ashville, Ohio, and two sisters: Kay “Darrell” Adkins of Circleville, and Patty Cyrus of McDermott. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Cyrus.

He was retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers with thirty years of service and a member of Union Local #18.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Dave Lute officiating. Burial will follow in the Cable Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from noon – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
