New Boston Police are asking for help identifying a woman seen on surveillance cameras using a stolen credit card.

According to New Boston Police, a Lucasville woman reported her wallet stolen from her purse while shopping at Wal-Mart, in New Boston, at about 11:30 p.m on Aug. 15.

Later that night, at about 1 a.m. (Aug. 16) a female suspect was seen using the stolen credit card at Speedway in Portsmouth to purchase a carton of cigarettes and two Mountain Dews. Police describe the suspect as a white female with dark hair, appearing to be in her late 20s or 30s. She was seen by surveillance cameras inside Speedway wearing a brown t-shirt with white lettering on the front.

The suspect was not seen getting into a vehicle outside.

“When she leaves the store she looks like she goes off to the side. We can’t tell if she’s in a vehicle or not,” Capt. Steve Goins, of the New Boston, said.

Goins asks anyone with information to contact the New Boston Police Department, at (740) 456-4109. Callers can ask to remain anonymous, he said.
