Wanda Nickel, 77

Wanda Lee Nickel, 77, of South Shore, Ky. passed away Dec. 2, 2012, in Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Scioto County Ohio, a daughter of the late Howard Leroy Penny and Anna Moore Penny.

She was retired from Hempstead Manor and Woodland care Centers of Portsmouth, Ohio as a licensed practical nurse.

Surviving are four sons, Charles Nickel, Michael Nickel both of Portsmouth, Ohio, Dean “Shaunda” Nickel, Chet Nickel both of South Shore, Ky., one daughter, Kathy “Steve” Thompson of South Shore, Ky., and raised two granddaughters, Kathy Lynn Sparks and Melissa “Jason” Hardin both of South Shore, Ky., 12 grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Fred L. Nickel, July 11, 2011, one brother Howard “Bud” Penny.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in South Shore, Ky. with, Rev. Norman Potter, officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the Funeral hour on Thursday.
