The first-ever Heaven and Hell Extreme Trail Ride is scheduled for Aug. 18, to benefit two local organizations — Mylee’s Mission, and Feed-the-Need.

The Heaven and Hell Extreme Trail Run is presented by White Gravel Mines on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 4298 White Gravel Road, in Minford. The extreme event is a three-mile trail run — including half-a-mile underneath a frozen lake. All proceeds of the $30 entrance fee will go to Mylee’s Mission, and the Feed-the-Need Christmas Event.

Tom Martin has teamed up with Miles and Ashley Ferguson to organize this event. Miles and Ashley Ferguson founded Mylee’s Mission after their six-week old daughter died while on their first family vacation. Not only was the family grief stricken by their loss, they were also faced with the possibility that Miles may face jail time.

Miles was found not guilty, however, and they both came out of the situation stronger and started Mylee’s Mission, an organization that brings faith and hope to the children of the community.

The Trail Run on Aug. 18 also will benefit the Feed-the-Need Christmas that gives needy children of the community a Christmas that they would not be able to have otherwise. They receive gifts and food and other things of which the family is in need.
