Authorites have confiscated drugs with a street value of $16,540, leading to the arrest of a Dayton area man. Anthony D. Smith, 38, is facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop Thursday in Scioto County.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Portsmouth Post Commander Lt. Karla Taulbee said troopers stopped a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix on U.S. 23 southbound, near Lucasville, at approximately 9:30 p.m. for a marked lanes violation and failure to use a turn signal. Troopers observed criminal indicators and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. The subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 110 grams of heroin and 8 grams of marijuana with a combined street value of approximately $16,540.00.

Smith, a passenger in that vehicle, was charged with Possession of Heroin, a felony of the first degree. Smith was incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail.
