Kane Sargent's first-career hat trick and Jacob Darling's seven saves helped visiting Valley to a 6-1 win over West.

But what has made Indians coach Bill Hale notice the most at this point in the season has been the play of newcomer Tyler Sherwood. The first-year player stopped two goals at the net from coming in.

"I was really proud of him," Hale said of Sherwood.

Valley (1-6) outshot the Senators 30-11. The Indians return home Monday to face Chesapeake then travel Tuesday to New Boston.

Minford 3, South Webster 1

A 3-0 first half hole was too much for host South Webster to overcome as Minford came away with a 3-1 win Thursday.

""We simply gave them too many good shots in the first half of this game and they connected," Jeeps coach Corey Claxon said. "We played a much better second half and really it was like watching a different game."

Chaffin Munyan tallied two goals while Bo Vallandingham scored the third for the Falcons. South Webster's lone goal came in the second half when Seth Goddard found Kyle Keaton for the score.

Minford won the battle on shots with a 23-7 edge.

"We are still learning and at some point I hope we pull it all together and play up to our potential," Claxon said.

The loss drops the Jeeps to 2-5-2 overall and 2-0-1 in SOC I play. They return to the pitch Tuesday with a home contest against conference foe Eastern.
