A crash in which alcohol is suspected as being a factor, has sent a Scioto County teenager to a Huntington hospital. Dillon Breach, 17, of Stout, was a rear passenger in a car operated by Amy M. Keaton, 36, also of Stout, that was involved in a crash. That crash left Breach trapped for approximately 20 minutes until he could be freed by the Nile Township Fire Department.

According to the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Thursday at approximately 5:58 p.m. Keaton was driving a 1998 Pontiac Firebird convertible westbound on U.S. 52 west of Ohio 125. Keaton’s vehicle is reported to have traveled left of center, over-corrected, traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree and overturning, finally coming to rest on it’s top. Keaton was not injured.

Thayler Sweet, 24, of Stout, was a front passenger in the vehicle and was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center by Nile Township EMS. She was later transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Breach was flown to Cabell Huntington Medical Center by AirEvac.

The OSHP said alcohol is suspected as being a factor in the crash and it is still under investigation.
