Officials with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a bank robbery that took place at the Ohio River Bank in South Webster on Friday.

The 911 dispatch received a call that the Ohio River Bank in South Webster had been robbed by a male subject who had left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. Deputies and detectives responded to 110 Jackson Street, where they checked the immediate area around the bank and started collecting evidence and processing the scene.

Members of the FBI and the Ohio State Highway Patrol also assisted in the investigation. After reviewing security video at the bank, authorities are looking for a white male, who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, slender, average height and dark haired. The subject fled on foot. No vehicle was seen by witnesses.

Officials with the sheriff’s department say there was a weapon used, and declined to release further details.
