Sally Ann Smittle, 72, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away at her home, Monday, June 18, 2012. She was born Jan. 4, 1940, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Sally was a 1957 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Portsmouth, a longtime member of Soroptimist International and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She retired from the State of Ohio, Department of Liquor Control.
Sally was preceded in death by her father Chester Rideout; husband, Jon Smittle; and sister, Lucinda Conley. She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Wagner, of Portsmouth; sister, Susan Crawford, of Lucasville; nephews, Tim (Carolyn) Paul and Tyson (Jane) Paul, of Lucasville; nieces, Kris (Andy) Hill, of Reynoldsburg and Elizabeth (Shiva) Jones-Mudaliyar, of Los Angeles, Calif; great-niece, McKena Martin, of Reynoldsburg, great-nephews, Stephen, Richard and Jacob Paul of Lucasville; and stepsisters, Sally Hale, of Hiram, Ga., and Cathy Powell, of Albany, Ohio.
Friends may visit Thursday, June 21, 6-8 p.m. at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. North (St. Rt. 256), Pickerington, Ohio, 43147. Funeral mass will be held Friday, June 22, 10 a.m. (visitation one hour prior to service), at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Portsmouth, Ohio, with internment to immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsmouth.
