Rachel Boggs Kallner., 93, of Minford, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
Born May 4, 1918, in Webbville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Sherman and Mary E. (Clark) Boggs, she was a homemaker, and a member of Lucasville Eastern Star, Chapter No. 495 and Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Locher of Lucasville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Lesley and Bruce Book of Sciotoville, Jason and Kristina Locher of Minford, whom she raised after the death of his mother Phyllis; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Book, Charles Brandon Book, Ian Locher; and a sister, Sylvia Ross, of Jackson County, Ohio. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law whom she considered her sisters, Mandy Montgomery, Ada Bradbury, Sarah Gilliland, Ruth White; and a brother-in-law, whom she considered her brother, David Kallner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest O. Kallner on March 25, 1972, whom she married in 1940 in Vanceburg, Kentucky; a daughter, Phyllis Locher on November 4, 1980; one sister, Velma Boggs, and seven brothers, Bobby Boggs, Eljay Boggs, Elton Boggs, Boyd Boggs, Vernon Boggs, Gene Boggs and Edgil Boggs.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastors Ralph Frazie and David Frazie officiating.
