GREENUP, Ky. — Twenty new manufacturing jobs will be created with the expansion of a security systems company located in a former Ashland oil company hanger at the Ashland Regional Airport in Worthington, the state Cabinet for Economic Development has announced.
Price Solutions, a limited liability company, will expand its manufacturing operation in the 45,000-square foot hanger to produce MAC Security Portals and other modular products.
The move represents an investment of more than $1.7 million, said Larry Hayes, secretary of the Cabinet.
He said Price Solutions is the manufacturing arm for Modular Security Systems Inc. and Dropbox Inc. All three companies will be jointly occupying the airport hanger, according to David Price, owner of Price Solutions.
“We looked at several locations in the Tri-State, but the assistance and cooperation we received from the state of Kentucky and numerous local organizations was instrumental in making our decision to locate in Worthington,” Price said.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has approved Price Solutions for tax benefits of up to $700,000 under Kentucky’s new Business Investment Program.
The incentive can be earned over a 10-year period through corporate tax credits and wage assessments.
Price said the company’s products support various industries, including petro chemical, industrial manufacturing and government sectors and is currently working with several nuclear facilities. Its first project was with the U.S. Military to provide ground security after the terrorist attack the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.
“Price Solutions and Modular Security Systems appear to be first class operations, and we’re glad to have these types of manufacturing jobs here in the county,” said Greenup County Judge-Executive Bobby Carpenter.
I’m pleased to welcome Price Solutions and the addition of 20 new jobs,” said Gov. Steve Beshear in a prepared statement. “My administration is taking aggressive actions to create and maintain jobs in Kentucky. We’ll continue to work with Price Solutions to ensure its success and growth.”
