New Boston Police are investigating a reported case of abduction and sexual assault that allegedly occurred in the village Thursday morning.

According to the police report, a woman reported that she walked out to get cigarettes, passing through the 3700 block of Stanton Avenue, in New Boston, when a van pulled up next to her and a man asked her for directions. She tells police that when she stepped toward to van, she was pulled inside.

She tells police two men inside the van drove a short distance, where she was sexually assaulted sometime between the hours of 2 and 3 a.m. on Thursday morning. She reportedly managed to escape the van and she was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center to be examined.

She described the vehicle to police as an old, grey “beat-up” mini-van style, and the men inside were described as two older “dirty looking” white men. One of the men had a beard, she said.

New Boston Police are asking that anyone with information on suspicious activity in the 3700 block of Stanton Avenue between the hours of 2 and 3 a.m. Thursday morning, call Capt. Steve Goins at (740) 456-4109. Callers can ask to remain anonymous.
