I would like to thank all of the local businesses and individuals who contributed to the annual Ashland Alliance Young Professional Backpack Program serving our disadvantaged youth. Mary Kay McGinnins-Ruark, served as our contact and worked tirelessly with our Family Resource and Youth Services Center to target our students in need. The program was a huge success with more than 50 backpacks being distributed to both McKell Middle School and McKell Elementary School. To each and every one of the businesses and individuals that donated cash or filled backpacks, you have helped our youth start off their school year on a positive note with new school supplies, new clothing, and shoes.
