Marilyn was born in Wheelersburg, Ohio, April 9, 1931, to her parents, Mae Wright Smith and William J. Smith. Marilyn graduated from Glenwood High School in 1949, and she married her sweetheart, George E. Moore, two weeks later.
Marilyn and George were blessed with four children, Anthony Richard, David Earl, Melodie Ann, and Sheila Mae.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Moore, her son, David Earl Moore, both of New Boston, Ohio, and by her second husband, Grady Lankford, of Beaver, Ohio.
Tony and Melodie Moore currently reside in New Boston, Ohio, while Sheila Moore Barlow and her husband, Kenneth Lynn Barlow, and their two children, Krystal Lynn and Sadie Marie, reside in Stem, N.C.
Marilyn had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Before retiring, Marilyn worked at Harts Dept. store, became a licensed beautician, and she owned and operated Grady’s Tradin’ Barn.
Marilyn resided in Beaver, Ohio, where she was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Friends and family can bid Marilyn farewell at Cox Funeral Home in Beaver Sunday, March 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. or attend her funeral at the church Monday, March 9, at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at the Moore cemetery in Elliott County, Ky.
I take this public opportunity to thank Rev. Ronnie Hines, his wife, Carol, Rev. Herman Stewart, his wife, Katie, all my church friends, all my good friends and neighbors, Lee, Faith, Trish, Steve, Mallard, Linda, Daniel, Phyllis, Bill, Darrel, Cheryl, David, the library staff, and especially, Delores Reisinger.
