The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a late night robbery at the Grandview Inn Hotel in South Point.

Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said a white male about between 18 and 30 entered the lobby of the Grandview Inn about 11:35 p.m. Monday wearing black shorts, a grey hooded sweat shirt, and an orange hunting ski mask. Lawless said the suspect brandished a small semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the female clerk. The clerk complied with the demand and the suspect fled on foot with a small amount of cash. The clerk did not know which direction the robber took when he left the hotel.

Lawless said his detectives are attempting to retrieve possible images from the hotel surveillance and from surveillance video from surrounding businesses.

He said anyone with information about the robbery should contact the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 532-3525.
