A Portsmouth man has been arrested, and a baby has been taken to a Columbus hospital.

Anthony W. Euton, 27, of 643 Apt. I, Eighth St., Portsmouth is facing a charge of endangering children, after a witness told Portsmouth Police that on two separate occasions Sunday, Euton picked up a baby out of a crib by its arm, and that they heard the arm pop. The witness also advised authorities that Euton grabbed the baby by the shoulders and threw him.

The witness advised that the baby’s head missed hitting the crib by about three inches, and that he managed to catch the baby just before he hit the ground.

Another witness advised officers that he saw Euton pick up the child by the arm, and he heard the arm pop. That witness also told police Euton was angry and threw the child into the air, catching him just before he hit the ground.

The official Portsmouth Police report said Portsmouth Police Officers called an ambulance to check the child and they said that the child “had no obvious deformities. However, it was not waking up even when they picked it up to check it. They also noted that the child’s eyes were rolling back into his head, and he (the baby) needed to be transported to the hospital.”

Once at the police station, officers said Euton denied throwing the baby, even though officers said he told them he did drop the baby twice.

Upon follow-up at Southern Ohio Medical Center, the report said it was determined the baby was being transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

I have to say that this and other incidents like this one are so shameful and pathetic. I know Tony, and his girlfriend Judy personally because, they are related to me by marriage, sorry to say. But anyway, I blame all of this incident on Scioto County Child Protective Services, simply because, this couple has a child that was born before this one, and children services took that baby away from Tony and Judy, sighting them not responsible and stable-minded enough to barely care for themselves, let alone a child. If the child protective services would have taken this one, like they did the first one, i believe this whole thing never would have happened. I also wish this country would pass a law to where mentally impaired people like Tony and Judy could be court ordered to be fixed to keep them from having babies and to keep stuff like this from happening.

I am getting sick and tired of reading about all of these tough guys doing crap like this to babies. Come pick on someone that can defend themselves you dirt bags. I promise if someone had ever done something like this to one of my babies, the criminal justice system would be coming after me. The undertaker would be the only one able to help scumballs like this if this happened in my family.
