While Wes Loop is not considered an impatient player on the basketball court, he didn't waste any time Friday night.
His first point of the night, scored from the free throw line, was the 1,000th of his high school career and started South Webster toward a 72-43 win over Green in its regular-season finale.
Loop finished the contest with 17 points.
"It's a great honor for him and he's had a tremendous senior season," South Webster coach Steve Ater said. "Now that he's got his 1,000th point he can be focused on advancing in tournament play. I'm proud of him for being the complete player he's been for us this year."
Connor Scott also scored 17 points for the Jeeps while Greg Pearson added nine.
Green was led by seniors Trenton Otworth and Dustin Stapleton with nine and eight points respectively. Fellow senior Nate Pinkerton pitched in with four.
Friday's game was the last as Bobcats for Otworth, Stapleton and Pinkerton.
Wes Loop and Trevor Queen are the only two seniors on the Jeeps roster. They played their final home game Friday, but their careers will continue with South Webster playing a Division IV District Semifinal on Tuesday against Southern. The game will tip at Ohio University's Convocation Center at 6:15 p.m.
