The Board of Trustees of the Portsmouth Public Library will be meeting at the Main Branch Tuesday, May 15 at noon.

Upcoming Adult Activities

Yoga

The Portsmouth Public Library will be hosting its Yoga group at 10am in the Copley Meeting Room on Tuesday, May 15.

Warm Up America

A group of local knitters will be meeting in the Quiet Room of the Portsmouth library location at 10am on Saturday, May 19 to make items to be donated to local families in need.

Learning Green Classes

The Portsmouth Public library will be hosting EPA funded speaker Sylvia Arthur on Saturdays during the month of May. Ms. Arthur will be presenting a series of classes focusing on the state of the environment and methods we can employ to take better care of our planet.

This four week series will begin May 5. Classes will begin at 10:30 am and finish around 12:30pm.

Beginning Painting Class at South Webster

The South Webster library location will be offering a painting class for beginners on May 15 at 5:30pm. There is limited space, so please call 778-2122 to pre-register.

Video Memoir Collection

The Portsmouth Public Library is always looking for individuals willing to share their experiences from living in Scioto County. Please call 740-353-5834 to schedule an interview.

Story times

Story times for children ages 3 months- 6 years will resume in late May.

Girl’s Reading Club

Girls ages 8-12 are invited to join the Girl’s Reading Club at the Portsmouth library location May 15 at 5pm. The girls will be discussing Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors

Dogs in the library? You bet.

Certified Therapy Dogs from the Southern Ohio All Breed Dog Club (and their owners) will be at various library locations. The dogs will be available to listen to any young reader wishing to practice their skills.

At Wheelersburg-Thursdays 4-5:30pm

At Lucasville-Fridays from 3-5pm

At Portsmouth- Saturdays from 2-4pm {No Tail Waggin Tutors this Saturday. Join us at Tracy Park!}
