Leona Wylie, 96
Leona M. Wylie, 96, formerly of Sinking Springs, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at the Williams-Wilson House in Waverly following an extended illness. She was born on April 13, 1916, in Adams County, Ohio, to the late Everett Lawrence and Icy Myrtle Bayes Trichler.
She was united in marriage on Sept. 16, 1935, to Paul Eugene Wylie who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1971.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and a special friend and a caregiver, Debbie Southers of Waverly. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and James R. Trichler and two sisters: Anne Sweet and Ruth Botkin.
Mrs. Wylie, along with her husband Jeff established the former Wylie Funeral Home in Sinking Springs, Ohio, she was a member of the Sinking Springs United Methodist Church, served on the Sinking Springs Village Council for a number of years, and was a 1935 graduate of Peebles High School.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Springs with Pastor Gregory Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Springs. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. The family would like thank everyone at the Williams-Wilson House in Waverly for their loving care.
