Helen Sharp, 76

Helen V. Comer Sharp, 76, of Minford, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born July 19, 1936, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Denver and Isabell Irene Bloomfield Comer, she was an auditor for Sears in Columbus, attended Pleasant Grove Church and was a member of Daughters of America.

She is survived by two brothers, Virgil Comer, Sr. of Minford, Earnest Comer of Lucasville; four sisters, Linda (Edward) Jones of South Webster, Fern (Roy) Belena of Oak Hill, Joann Porter of Portsmouth, Judy Comer of Oak Hill, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Sharp on April 6, 1980; one son, Randy Scott Comer; four brothers, Gene Comer, Russell Comer, Raymond Comer, Willard Comer, and one sister, Ruby Comer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Steve Luster officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
