George Adam Kraus, 77, of Lucasville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Robert George and Nellie Mae Poe Kraus.

George was a retired United States Postal Service letter carrier with 44 years of service, and a graduate of Taylor High School, in Cleves, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cooper Kraus, whom he married Dec. 22, 1956, in Lawrenceburg, Ind.; one son, Robert (Barbara) Kraus of Cheviot, Ohio; three daughters, Tina Lee of Florence, Ky., Brenda Higgins of Moores Hill, Ind., and Kristi Bryant of Sunman, Ind.; two grandchildren, Kristoffer Kraus and Jessica Bryant.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, William Kraus, and one sister, Martha Sheley.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
