Donald Ross, 78
Donald Wayne Ross, 78, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Regency Hospital in Columbus.
He was born June 16, 1934, in Milltown, Ind., a son of the late Harold and Rena Faye Masters Ross.
Don was a carpenter by trade, was President and co-owner of Radiant Sales Inc., co-owner of The Meeting Place, and a US Air Force Korean War veteran. He also served as a special deputy for the Scioto Co. Sheriff, was a member of the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club, and of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Laswell Ross, whom he married Nov. 1, 1958, in New Albany, Ind.; one daughter Teresa Lynn Ross of English, Ind.; one son, Joel Ross of Lucasville; three grandchildren, Sarah, Tarah, and Darian Ross; one great grandchild Keegan Alexander; mother-in-law Mayme Ruth Laswell; one sister; Buttercup, his little Chihuahua he dearly loved; many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in law; special friends at Homer Bailey Gun Shop.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Rev. David Cottrell officiating. Burial will follow in Poorfarm Cemetery 2 p.m.., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in English, Ind. with military rites performed by the VFW Post 6160. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
